With the limited reserves of non renewable fossil resources such as petroleum, coal and natural gas, the problems such as the limited reserves, non biodegradable and polluted environment are becoming more and more serious. As the only renewable resources that can be converted into liquid energy and substitute for petroleum based chemical products, the chemical use of biomass resources directly affects all aspects of people's life.
Biomass includes plants, animals and their excreta, garbage and organic wastewater, coal gasification and so on. In a broad sense, biomass is an organic matter produced by plants through photosynthesis. Its energy is originally derived from solar energy, so biomass energy is a kind of solar energy.
